GRACE MIEDZIAK
Grace Miedziak is a versatile composer, producer, arranger, and vocalist based in Los Angeles. Utilizing her range of knowledge in classical, soundtrack, pop, and electronic music, her projects are a bold fusion of traditional orchestration and boundary-breaking modern elements.
Her entry into the professional music world began when she was just seventeen years old, when the Portland Metropolitan Youth Symphony commissioned Miedziak to compose Seereise for orchestra. Later, during her studies at the University of Southern California, her piece Coil & Venom was selected for performance by the USC Thornton Symphony at their New Music for Orchestra concert. In addition to her passion for the orchestra, Miedziak enjoys writing for smaller ensembles and solo instruments. Her cello piece, Trout and the Hatch, was performed by Oregon Symphony principal cellist Nancy Ives, and she was also commissioned by Chamber Music Northwest to compose her string quartet, An Inkling.
In recent years, Miedziak has made significant strides in composing music for media. During her time at USC, she composed music for National Public Radio and worked with directors at the prestigious USC School of Cinematic Arts to score short films, animations, and video games. She has also contributed to projects like film Don’t Look Back, directed by Jeffrey Reddick, by assisting composer Chris Thomas with orchestration and vocal effects. Miedziak also writes songs, engineers, and produces popular music with an array of up-and-coming artists in EDM, alt-pop, American folk, rock, metal, and more.
As a vocalist, Miedziak has performed with the acclaimed USC Chamber Singers, participating in an international tour and performing with renowned vocal ensembles such as Voces8. Additionally, her voice can be heard in soundtracks featured in theme parks and attractions across the states, including Cedar Point and Knott’s Berry Farm. Her vocal talent was notably recognized in the project Imagine Symphony Live, which won the Hollywood Music in Media award for Best Original Score.
Looking forward, Miedziak is excited to continue collaborating with other musicians and performers. She firmly believes that music is a powerful vehicle for emotional release, human connection, and effective storytelling.
